Title: Big holes in net's heart revealed

Is it me, or is this one of those, "we have to do research for common sense because we have none" discoveries ?

I mean, we've seen years ago possibility and iirc even actual DoS attacks on the DNS infrastructure, and there was hype then. Why now, and why stress that it's a discovery ? At least it's not as bad as the "internet will be shut down" thing I guess.

But still... other kinds of attacks are nothing new to DNS either. And obviously, if one machine is compromised over the route, then there is potential for some exploitation.  Nothing new there.

Only thing I can think of, is that they're talking about DoS attacks along with other attacks. But that's nothing new either.

What does everyone else think ? Am I just a bit hyper right now ? :)

Oh and in defense of the media... I suppose they're ignorant and just want people to read the article. It's the people doing the research that make me wonder...
