Sure... I can arrange that, though I'd need some info from you:

1. Your credit card number.
2. Your home address.

I'll then order the software and send it your way!

Seriously, come on .... this isn't a pirating group.

If you want a copy of software that is commercial (or even just shareware), go to a pirating place.

Why do you think I said "Seriously, come on .... this isn't a pirating group" after ?

It was SARCASM and it basically meant we aren't doing illegal things for you.

Find it yourself.

(And I really am kicking myself for stopping the hold on sarcasm. I knew some people took offense so I tried to lower it, but never did I imagine that someone would take it like this.)

Thievery isn't hacking.

It might happen that some do have illegal software, but that doesn't mean it's what it's _about_.

I wasn't being an ass; I was making a point through something I always use: sarcasm. If I was being an ass you'd know it. It would be a direct attack on your intelligence or something equally as stupid (I try not to judge other people's intelligence like that). But I even said "seriously.. come on.. etc" after the fact to point out what I meant.

Somehow I think if I simply said "We don't do piracy here" this forum would still be bad.

The thing is, no place that has ever helped the government would just offer software to any one who comes along and asks for it.

You want it in more polite terms ? Okay.. We don't do piracy here because it's illegal.

There, now you have your answer. Btw, if you really want these programs, they aren't too hard to get. I might have even had a copy ages ago when I used to do assembly on DOS. But since my programming is restricted to Unix now, I have no use for these programs.

Im trying to figure out why most people make the connection between hacking and piracy. Im starting to believe its that friggin MTV show "True Life: Im A Hacker" where the kid was boasting his 31337 $k1llz by playing a copy of Star Wars Episode 1 when it was still in theaters.

Okay people who dont know, im going to clarify for you now.

Hackers and Pirates are NOT one in the same! While each shares a little of the others skill set and you can occasionally find someone who is both, they are not the same skillsets and cant be generalized together.

Example: Just because you learned how to use CloneDVD and AnyDVD to make copies of the crap you rent at Blockbuster, doesnt instantly qualify you to be an expert in breaking into a BSD server somewhere. Same thing can be said if you made a copy of your buddy's new Photoshop CD and downloaded a crack or keygen off Astalavista, doesnt mean you can now program in C.

Biggest difference; anyone can be a pirate, all it takes is a CD burner and some blank media, not just anyone can be a hacker, it takes years of learning and patience with a die hard attitude.

I just formatted my only win box (rest are linux based) and I saw IDA in a backup somewhere ... and here I am reading about it today. How ironic!

(okay, I really need to go to bed.. getting senile or something here!)
