CD-Burning software
« on: July 28, 2005, 07:42:43 AM »
My linux box is on the frizz--it won't load gdm for some dumb reason...  Anyway, I need to get some files off it and I would rather just scrap RedHat and put on FC3.  So, does anyone know where some CD-Burning software is that'll work w/out gdm loaded.  (AKA, command line-ish) ;D

by the way that's probably not the right syntax, but my feeble mind insists on calling it rawrite....  ;)

What about 'cdrtools' or such ?

And if you're going to be making some ISO images, try 'mkisofs' as well.

http://cdrecord.berlios.de/old/private/cdrecord.html (for cdrtools)

http://freshmeat.net/projects/mkisofs/

Does that help ? I know mkisofs is command line, and I am thinking cdrtools is too (fairly sure).

Sweetdawgs, you guys have saved my bacon.  I was an idiot and put my linux harddrive in my windows machine so I could copy the files onto the windows hard drive.  But Windows can't even read it...I'm an idiot...

Anyway, thanks for you're suggestions, I think cdrecord will do the trick.
