Wireless Network Performance

Do you guys know anyway i can get wireless on an old CPU to work faster? it only has USB 1.1 and consequentially i can only get connection seeds of 8Mbit, is there a device which is a wireless receiver that works ia ethernet as I do have a 10/100 Ethernet Card


Any help appreciated
