Do the US networks still do that crap? Man in Ireland you just ring the Network provider and tell them you want to change networks. They give you the unlocking code.. job done.

Google it man.  There are sites out there that are nothing BUT unlocking cells.  There's a ton of freeware phreaking crap out there, just look for it.

Australia.. So you have to put up with... Telstra ?

Ouch..

I don't know what to say there. About google, there probably is a lot of junk, a lot more than there used to be.

First of all, unlocking a phone like this is illegal.  Not that _any_ service provider will ever be able to tell, but just to let it sit on your conscience. ;D
On to how to do it.
I'm not sure if this is quite how to do it, so tell me if it works.  Most Nokia phones are pretty easy to unlock (except the ericssons), all you need is a DCT3 or DCT4 unlocker.  The part I'm not sure about is if you need a DCT3 or 4, I'm assuming you need a DCT4.  Anyway, download the unlocker here (If you're in XP, you may have to run it in Win98 compatibility mode):

http://homepage.ntlworld.com/danluik/downloads/Cybergsm_DCT4_1.4.zip

Then you need the following info:

Lock Type- It's always a 2 unless you have a 7650 or 3650.
IMEI #- To find this, dial *#06#
Network Provider- These codes are found here:

http://www.yeldar.co.uk/MCC-MNC.htm

Once you put all this into the nifty program it will spit out 7 codes.  Take out the sim card and first try code 7.  If that doesn't work then code 1, then 5.  If none of those work, then none of the others will.  DO NOT TRY THEM ALL!!  If you screw it up 5 times, the phone will lock itself and only a professional cable unlocker can unlock it!

The codes will loock something like this:

#pw+843021176162422+3#

To access "p" just press "*" three times within one second. To access "w" press "*" four times within one second.
To access button "+" you have to press twice "*" within less than a second.

If successful you will see the message 'Phone restriction off' (if not you will get a 'code error' message).

There's a ton of info here if you need it for some reason:

http://www.unlockme.co.uk/dct4free.html

And if all else fails, there's a cheap place here:

http://www.uniquephones.com/index.php

that'll do it for $1.99
